Life 2023-2024
2/24 I've been struggling for years to have a consistent artistic practice (hence my title, The Casual Artist) and a couple of years ago I started struggling at my day job in the salon as well. By a combination of chance, a little research and a test I was diagnosed with inattentive ADHD. My approach to my life now has changed significantly. I have much more patience with myself and I am learning my natural rhythms and working with them instead of trying to fight them. I had another significant life event happen last year. In May '23 the salon that I had worked at for over 10 years closed suddenly. In June I ventured out on my own and am now a sole proprietor at my own salon loft. The autonomy feels amazing. I'm still trying to get my sea legs and come up with a balance between my cosmetology career and my artistic ventures. It's a little scary standing alone with my decisions but I have wonderful family and friends to encourage me. Stay tuned.

Project 2023-2024
12/23 I thought it would be good to offer larger sizes for my small paintings by printing reproductions. I also thought it would be a good idea to produce them in house, but like all things that involve a computer and a printer, frustrations ensued. I'm getting the hang of it now. After researching hours of YouTube tutorials without success I finally found the answer from an artist who developed a class to share her knowledge of reproducing artwork. It cost a chunk of change, but I found the information I needed. Yay! I'm working on editing my websites right now so you can see the prints that I have available. Stay tuned.

Project 2020-2021
Due to the pandemic my artistic focus has temporarily shifted.
I have taken an extended break from painting and have been trying to get outside as much as possible.
I have documented my short excursions with photographs. To view some of these photographs on Instagram click here.
